Football jersey printing in Switzerland: your own shirt

Bought a blank jersey, received one as a gift or found an old favourite you would like to personalise? Adding printing to a football jersey you already own lets you choose the detail that is missing: a player, your own name, a number or patches. In Switzerland, Maillots Market’s Atelier Flocage offers this service for your existing jersey. Here is how to plan your project, understand the cost and arrange shipping.

The quick answer: you can submit a jersey bought from Maillots Market or another shop. Choose the service online, send your photos after ordering and follow the shipping instructions. The jersey’s suitability and the origin of the printing materials are checked before application. The service does not include a jersey.

Can you get a football shirt printed if you bought it elsewhere?

Yes. The service also accepts jerseys purchased from other shops, so you do not need to buy the same model again to consider personalisation. The assessment concerns the actual jersey you provide: its team, season, version and condition. A recent jersey with a blank back presents different challenges from an older one with fragile existing printing.

Printing is separate from buying a jersey. If you also order an item from the shop, it is shipped separately and its usual shipping charges apply in addition. For a rare, signed or already damaged jersey, contact the workshop before ordering to explain anything that requires particular care.

Which name, number and patches can you choose?

The current options are name and number, name only, number only or patch application. You can choose a favourite player, your first name, your surname or a nickname. A famous player’s name does not carry an extra charge: the selected service and materials determine the price. Available characters depend on the font and supplier.

For a look that matches a particular season, note the club or national team, year, jersey type and competition. Lettering styles, number colours and badges can vary. For a personal design, pay particular attention to the final spelling and number. Take time to read the order summary before paying.

The configurator includes a single patch or the Champions League “ball + foundation” pair. Discuss other combinations with the workshop before ordering. An option appearing in the configurator does not mean every historical reference is available for every jersey.

Three situations to consider before printing

Your jersey is recent and has no printing

This makes it straightforward to describe the result you want, but a blank back does not guarantee suitability. Specify the version and show the seams, patterns and small details already on the jersey. If you are unsure whether it is a player or fan version, our guide to jersey versions (in French) will help you describe it.

Your jersey is old or fragile

Heat application can leave marks or damage certain fabrics. Mention worn areas, discolouration and fragile sponsors. The workshop checks suitability before proceeding and contacts you if it identifies a particular risk. For a collector’s piece, also consider whether you would prefer to preserve its current condition: printing added today is a later personalisation.

There is already a name or number on the back

Adding printing to an empty area and replacing an existing nameset are different projects. Do not order on the assumption that old letters can be removed without leaving traces. Send photos of edges, cracks and the surrounding fabric, then ask what is possible. A standard printing order does not guarantee removal or restoration.

How much does football jersey printing cost in Switzerland?

Look at the complete cost by separating the service, shipping to the workshop and return shipping. As a reference, on 18 October 2026, the Maillots Market configurator lists CHF 44.90 for a name and number without patches. Patches and other services have their own prices, so check the configuration that matches your actual choice.

Return shipping is currently charged at checkout at CHF 2.00 within Switzerland, or CHF 14.00 to supported European countries outside Switzerland. You pay separately to send your jersey to the workshop. In the name-and-number example without patches, the total is CHF 46.90 including return shipping within Switzerland, plus your outbound postage. Prices can change: always check the displayed total before confirming.

How to prepare your order in four steps

  1. Identify your jersey. Gather the club or national team, season, home/away/third designation and version if you know it. Describe defects rather than simply calling it “good condition”.
  2. Configure and check. Select your service on the workshop page. Check the name, number, patches, price and service terms before paying.
  3. Send the photos. After ordering, you must email front and back views to the address provided by the workshop, together with your order number and jersey reference. Include useful details such as a sleeve, existing printing or a defect. The photos are used for the assessment and are not published on the shop.
  4. Follow the shipping instructions. Wait for the instructions sent after payment. Pack a clean jersey carefully and put your order number inside the parcel. Inspection and checks on the printing materials take place before application.

Good information helps avoid misunderstandings. A clear back photo shows the available space; a front view helps identify the model; a close-up reveals damage that a general photo might hide. Do not replace photos of your actual jersey with catalogue images: the workshop needs to assess the item it will receive.

Turnaround, printing materials and care: what to check

The workshop estimates around one to two weeks after receiving the jersey. This depends on suitability, availability, supplies and complexity. Shipping to the workshop is not included in that timeframe. For a gift or a match on a fixed date, contact the workshop before ordering instead of treating the estimate as a guaranteed delivery date.

Official namesets are prioritised when available and verified. An unofficial reproduction may be offered only after you have been informed and have agreed. Ask which origin is proposed for your reference; a player’s name on the back does not establish the provenance of the printing.

After application, follow the care instructions for the fabric and the added materials. Our guide to washing a jersey without damaging the printing provides further advice. Keep the order confirmation and details of what was added, too: they help document your jersey.

Questions to ask before ordering

Do I need to buy a new jersey?

No. Atelier Flocage works on the jersey you already own, including one bought elsewhere. The service price does not include a jersey.

Can I add my own first name?

Yes. The current service accepts first names, surnames and nicknames, subject to the characters available in the chosen font. Check the spelling in the order summary.

What happens if my jersey is unsuitable?

The printing is not applied. The workshop contacts you to agree on an appropriate refund and return shipment under the terms shown before purchase; refunds are not automatic. For a fragile jersey or an unusual project, get in touch beforehand.

Give your jersey a new lease of life

A name, number or patch can turn a forgotten jersey into one you want to wear again. Gather its details, decide on the result you want and configure your jersey printing with Maillots Market. You can check the options, price and terms in the same place.
